GetOut! New Recreation Programs
Most of these programs were developed by youth workers at Vancouver community centres. Many worked closely with GetOut! staff and youth in their communities. Others were entirely initiated and run by youth. Many of these programs also involved partnerships with community groups.
GetOut! is mighty proud to have been involved in these programs - many of which are still going on in some way.
If you are interested, please contact us or the individual community centres to see what's up and how you might get involved.

"MADSkillz" at Britannia

"MADSkillz" is a youth-initiated and youth-driven creation. It is an informal youth economy (a youth bartering system), centred around Commercial Drive, building on the strengths and talents of youth. For example, one youth member can take lessons (let's say, in piano) from a second youth member, who builds (let's say, a table) for a third youth member, and so on... and so on... and so on...
To find out more or to join, please contact organizers, Geordie & his friends, through us at the GetOut! Ideas Factory. The MADSKILLZ Collective website is coming soon, check to see if it's up: www.eastvanderskillz.com.
