The GetOut! Games
Sponsors: Little Mountain Neighbourhood House & Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School
Youth Representatives: Seguna
The GetOut! Games are the first project launched by the GetOut! Tupper Youth Action Team.
Recognizing the tough transitional year of Grade 8, the Getout Games are a community building sports day fostering inter-grade cooperation, welcoming the new grade 8s, and encouraging them to be active and involved in school and extra-curricular activities. The focus of the games and activities is on inclusion, participation and fun as opposed to competition.
The goals of the program are:
- To welcome Grade 8’s to the school;
- To get them involved in the school and the community;
- To raise awareness of the Jomar Lanot memorial garden being built in 2006;
- To promote tolerance among the diverse groups of people in the school.
