Arti Khanderia
What’s up! My name is Arti. While born and raised in Toronto, my ethnic background is African-Indian. Learning about different cultures, sharing ideas on social change, and engaging in cool, creative, and beneficial community projects (locally and internationally) is what makes me tick. I love painting, theatre, swimming and watching basketball (because I am too short to actually play). I studied in Cuba last May, and have spent the last several summers in India. Always impressed how much I am inspired by you all.

In 2005, Arti helped out the Tupper GETOUT! Youth Action Team.

Chris Corday, Independent Journalist

In 2005, Chris helped out the GetOut! Youth Reporters. He helped the Youth Reporters learn how to find the "slug."

Elana Cossever
Hi, my name is Elana. I am originally from Montreal but have lived in Vancouver long enough to consider it home. I love to travel and have been lucky enough to spend several years backpacking through South East Asia, India and Central America. I have a background in holistic medicine but my current areas of interest are both food systems and issues related to human (over) consumption. I spend most of my time outside of school running an organic food cooperative on UBC campus and cooking.

In 2005, Elana helped out the MY Circle GETOUT! Youth Action Team.

David NicholsDavid Nichols
A past shrouded in mystery, a future shining with promise, a vibrant new talent is emerging in our midst. Representing the anger of the working class, that heady mix of cynicism and hope of a generation promised endless opportunities but encountering seemingly endless obstacles, a new voice is emerging for our turbulent times. That voice, of course, is Avril Lavigne. This voice belongs to David Nichols. Born and raised by a single mother on the streets of Surrey, David was beginning to lose touch with his political science studies as discussions were increasingly consumed with ideologies rather than facts, intellectual limits rather than freedoms. Thankfully, GETOUT! is providing him with an opportunity to try his hand at a new found interest: Journalism. And bio writing. He’s not so good at the latter.

In 2005, David was a GetOut! Youth Reporter, specializing in the written word.

Fiona LemonFiona Lemon, Youth Action Teams Coordinator
Hi everyone! I grew up in Victoria and moved to Vancouver five years ago, so I should be well-versed in the cool places and activities our city has to offer. But really, I'm constantly surprised! I studied International and Community Development at UBC, and I had a great opportunity to study and travel in Central and South America. I feel lucky to have been able to see the world from different perspectives and to question my own assumptions. I love photography, film and literature (from spoken word to the classics) and I never resist a chance to breathe a little fresh air: maybe a soccer game with friends or a little trekking and climbing.

Fiona was Coordinator for the GetOut! Youth Action Teams and helped out the GETOUT! Youth Power Squad, the SouthVan GETOUT! Youth Action Team and the MY Circle GETOUT! Youth Action Team.

Jeremy Faulkes

In 2005, Jay was a GetOut! Youth Reporter. He specializes in film, video and animation.

Krista Kelloway, Brightlight Pictures

In 2005, Krista helped out the Eastside Youth Group. She served as a celebrity judge at the Eastside Youth Group's neighbourhood bbq and youth talent show.
